Be strong, and let your heart take courage.

"I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!"
Psalm 27:13-14

Benjamin Edward (March 22, 1996-December 6, 2013)
We will see God's goodness. This is our promise, that even when we do not see God's goodness right now, we believe we will. It is God's hand and plan at work. I do not understand and I do not have to. But I know it was not beside Him or beyond Him. Show me all the evil in the world and I will say God is good. Show me all the darkness and I will say God is light. I look around and I do see good. I see love and faithfulness in the midst of this. I see providence and provision. I look upon Ben and all the memories and I see only goodness and light.

Grant us, oh Lord, boldness to speak of Your goodness, to spread your Gospel. We do not ask for safety, only for courage--the courage to speak, to not remain silent. Make us courageous to say this is Jesus' work. He is riding out and conquering all sin and disease. He is riding in victory. Give us courage to speak! Jesus welcomed our loved one home into His arms. And we will speak of this. We will not let our grief silence us.

  1. I sang this psalm tonight with my family and we all thought of you. We are all standing with you and behind you, praying that the Lord would strengthen and encourage your hearts in Christ. I wish with all my heart that I could physically be with you, my dear friend. But know that my family and I and my church family are praying for you. <3

  2. I pray this with you, Dani. What a beautiful post. I love you so very much.

  3. I feel awkward commenting here, since I haven't been reading your blog for very long. That said, I wanted to remark on how miraculously peaceful you have been through this, from what I've seen on your blog/google+. Most people get angry/extremely emotional after the loss of a loved one, and you seem to be very peaceful and faithful. I really admire that.

    We are praying for you - my family and I. Many blessings on your family in this time of mourning.

  4. My family is in prayer with and for y'all, that you will be courageous in this!

  5. You don't know me (I'm a friend of Michaela's) but I heard about your loss & I just have to say that I'm very, very sorry. My birthday is March 21st (same year) so this hits very close to home for me. Please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers and heart!

  6. Dearest Danielle,

    I am so so sorry to hear about your loss! May the Lord comfort and strengthen your heart and that of your family through this difficult time, - dear Dani, I don't know what to say..., except that your testimony of rejoicing and trusting joyfully in God's goodness in this time of the passing of your dear brother, is so beautiful - 'Yet He slay me, yet I will rejoice in Him'...

    Many blessings on you, and I am praying for you all!
    -Joy <3
