My Wardrobe: Rose in Bloom

On a normal day my go-to look is casual and comfortable with maybe a flare of color from a scarf or piece of jewelry. But just like any other girl, I have my days when I want to dress up. I like to call this dress "rose in bloom". I discovered this dress at a Goodwill store about four years ago and it has since accompanied me multiple times to the theater, parties, and the occasional Sunday morning worship service (though it's a little dressy for worship, if you ask me). For those of you who have read Regina Doman's Fairy Tale Novels, when I first saw this dress I instantly thought of Rose Briar and that's partially the reason I bought it. Her character has been a source of fashion inspiration ever since I read Doman's series in high school.

Since this is my first official fashion blog post, I would love to hear any and all feedback from you. If you noticed anything about the photos, outfits, etc that could use improvement, let me know! A fashion series is something I've dreamed of doing on this blog for some time now, but I'm currently unsure of how frequently I will be making fashion posts. I will keep you all posted. A huge thank-you goes out to my sister Anna for taking these pictures! And finally, below I shared some of my favorite fashion blogs/bloggers. These are some of the folks responsible for the inspiration behind this new series!

And that dress is awesome too - I could never pull it off because I'm just not dressy but from these pictures I wish I could... *sigh*

  6. That is a lovely dress! I don't think it is too dressy for church. :) But, of course, everyone has different standards for church clothing, and so I understand your reasons for thinking it so. I like your shoes as well! Perfect for summer! :)

    1. Thank you, Natalie! This is one of my favorite spring/summer dresses. It translates nice into winter too. You simply have to add close-toed shoes and a bolero, sweater, or even a poncho on top. :)

  13. Funny you mentioned that Anna took the pictures -- I was thinking, even before reading that bit, how great the family resemblance is between you two.
