My Wardrobe: Country Girl

This outfit features my country-girl side of me. In case you didn’t know, I love plaid. As I was getting ready to go to work yesterday morning I selected a St. John’s Bay plaid blouse only to realize that this was the fourth plaid top I wore this week. It might be a little redundant, but I really don’t care. Comfort and plaid are definitely two top priorities for my wardrobe.

Speaking of comfort, this plaid button-up with chambray detail from Cato is probably the most comfortable shirt I have ever worn. I found it at a thrift store for $5. It is so soft and warm and sadly almost out of season. But with the bipolar weather recently, who knows? I might get a little more wear out of this fleecy shirt before I put it away for next fall/winter.

I love the chambray detail on this shirt. Chambray and denim are two loves of mine.

The distressed jeans are by Heritage and I believe are hand-me-downs from one of my sisters, or a friend. These are my favorite comfortable “grunge jeans”. The leather steel-toed boots are by Durango. I can’t remember how much they cost, but I am pretty sure it was $100+ on clearance, mind you, online from Country Outfitter. I purchased these for my sister’s wedding last winter.

The above picture is my attempt at posing professionally, though it looks like I am about to make a snarky remark to the barista across the counter who is probably laughing at me and my vain attempts.

Once again, a massive thank-you to my sister, friend, and photographer, Anna, who made this post possible and took such fabulous photos. Thank you to my brother-in-law, niece, and nephew who let me steal Mama for the afternoon.

Well, there you have it! This is one outfit I am definitely going to miss with the onslaught of spring and summer. What clothing and fashion items are you going to miss this warm season? Let me know in the comments below or email me at jehovahreigns@gmail.com. I always love hearing from you! Also, go like my official Facebook page if you have not already. There you can find some hysterical "bloopers" from my photoshoot.

  3. ooohhh! I LOVE YOUR OUTFIT!! <3 <3 I am total cowgirl style..or country gal, you pick. ;) I DREAM to marry a cowboy and head out west to live on a ranch together forever....it's a big dream. :P And I would have a huge garden and my dear cowboy would come out when the sun was setting and he would take his hand in mine and we would go take a walk in the woods before the moon and the stars come out...

sorry!!! LOL!!! I probably shouldn't publish this..but, oh well. ;)

    1. You know, Julia, when I was a little girl I used to dream of being a rodeo cowgirl. That never happened, of course, but I still wonder if one day I won't meet a cowboy and live on a ranch... ;)

      Thanks for sharing! :D

  5. Such a stunning outfit, dear Dani...I love plaid and oh! Your cowgirl boots are so cute! Even though I'm not American....there is something about cowboys that I love! Haha, I enjoyed Julia's comment...it is a dream of mine too! Except here in South Africa I might have to settle for a Boer farmer instead of a cowboy! Oh, goodness!
Thank you for always being so sweet to stop by my blog, Dani...it is a joy to have you visit!
    Hugs and blessings to you!
